This has been around for quite some time, but in fact Eric Schmidt once stated there won't be a google browser. On the other hand, this may be tactics, as Google has allways done a good job at misinforming the web crowd.

@Fruetel
Google has allways done a good job at misinforming the web crowd.
Exactly ! And not only the web crowd: investors, publishers, etc. Matt Cutt's former job was spreading misinformation (and it's strategical architecture) as NSA-Guy; currently he teaches "misinformation and professional lying" to the Geek-Crew in Mountain View. This guy is a parachuter, a "universal soldier" (NSA-Type), responsable for "strategy" and "general technical matters" but finally not a technician. He has a quite interesting CV...;-)
I'm not amused taking a look at Google's crew nowadays...Considering Google's initial spirit, claims and technical skills, there is a degeneration process at the moment. There are many facts to be unearthed in regard to "Google's undergrounds" as time is ripe...:-):-):-)

Greets,
