mod_rewrite id limit

hey folks!
liegt es an mir, oder ist es wirklich nicht möglich mehr als 9 variablen mit mod_rewrite umzuwandeln? ab $10 verhält es sich wie bei $1 ...
hat hier jemand einen plan davon??

weiß ich jetzt nicht, aber selbst wenn sollte es nicht so schlimm sein.
fasse doch einfach in der htaccess zwei varaiblen mit einem eindeutigen TRennzeichen zusammen und spitte es dann direkt im Script wieder auf....

RewriteRule backreferences: These are backreferences of the form
$N
(0 <= N <= 9) which provide access to the grouped parts (parenthesis!) of the pattern from the corresponding RewriteRule directive (the one following the current bunch of RewriteCond directives).
