Hi All,

It may be just wrong what i am thinking but my experiance for now is that a site which does use adsense on the site gets more traffic from Google and MSN and less from Yahoo compared with other months where the ads where not placed yet.

As you can see the stats for Google stays the same in referrers
and MSN does perform also better by month.

A fact is that on March 19 adsense banners where placed on this site and from that moment on less traffic did come from Yahoo !!

Maybe others did have the same experiance then i would like to know this also so we can take conclusions !!

For the rest i can say that adsense can work well.
Seeing that this site has only 16 pages for now...the results are not bad.

Optimizer

I guess that just most people have no comparison *without* adsense :).
I have adsense on my site but already from the very beginning, so I can't say if its more or less than before.

Hi Optimizer,

thanks for sharing your results. But I don't think that Adsense could have to do something with Yahoo results - normally a bot excludes Javascript from the beginning.

Would be no sense for yahoo to rank this sites lower - till yahoo got his own "adsense"-programm.

Greetings,
Thomas

@Lutz-Development

Hi,

Well i find it strange that a specific page...who ranked 6 for a long time now dropped to place 16 after the adsense was placed.

This is just one example of a page dropped at Yahoo.
Ofcourse it does not have the same effect on google...in fact it did go from 3 to place 2... (7 mil pages)

It may also be so that they both exclude javascript....but still there is a little voice in my head that says that they could verify it anyway and identify google ads.

regards,
OPtimizer

Hi Optimizer,

how about trying the other way round? Just remove the ads and lets see what happens!?

Perhaps the ads have an indirect effect: bad rankings because of javascript code, or because of bigger page size!? There are many factors in the ranking algorithm.

Greetings,
Thomas

This could be a solution but only if per page is counted by Yahoo.

This cant be true since they ignore it like you mentioned before..
Also google ads are loaded not from my site...but from the google adsense server, so it wont effect the real size of my html file very much.
