I see more and more pages in google with the site description like shown from the same site in DMOZ.
It was already known by most (i hope) that the linktext there has some effect on the same query once its listed but this effect could be now more related with the site description.
I think this is good to know when you suggest your site to DMOZ but as from my own experiance, be fair and objective when you suggest a site with your site suggestion. A good and clear description means less work for the editor and a greater possibility of your site exepted the way you like it.
