Wann kommt GOOGLE's Payment Service?

Hab von einem Freund gehört, dass Google plant PayPal und Co Dampf zu machen.

Weis jemand, ob das stimmt und wenn ja, wann man damit rechnen kann?

Angekündigt haben sie es - ob und wann es wirklich kommt steht wohl noch in den Sternen.

Es wird irgendeine Art von Bezahlsystem geben, aber laut Google will man kein Konkurrrenzangebot zu paypal aufmachen. Vermutlich wird es bei dem Bezahlsystem in erster Linie darum gehen irgendwelche google-Produkte zu bezahlen. Da gibt es ja in Zukunft durchaus Bedarf z.B. bei Videos, Premium Content, ...

Komisch, aber egal, das hat Schmidt gesagt:

Web search leader Google Inc. is developing an online payment system to tackle “new problems in e-commerce,” but is not building a direct rival to eBay Inc.’s PayPal

Google does not intend to offer a “person-to-person stored-value payments system” like PayPal’s, in which money briefly resides in PayPal’s control during the transaction.
