Toolbaranzeige ist nicht gleich wahrer Pagerank

Ist für viele zwar ein alter Hut jedoch las ich gerade Googleguy`s Post (Msg 15) (nur mit kostenpflichtiger Registrierung) wo ich zum erstenmal aus erster Hand sozusagen eine Bestätigung sehe.

Wobei diese Aussage ja aus dem Zusammenhang gerissen nicht viel aussagt. Der eigentliche Pagerank-Wert wird ja ohnehin erst mal logarithmisch auf die 0-10 Anzeige skaliert. Man könnte das also auch so interpretieren, dass mit internem Pagerank der unskalierte Wert, der irgendwo zwischen 0 und 4.285.199.774 liegen könnte, gemeint ist. Oder hat er sich auch dazu geäussert, ob der interne PR öfter aktualisiert oder noch anderweitig, beispielsweise durch Ausfilterung 'irrelevanter' Links, modifiziert wird?

Ausgangsfrage:

I've recently purchased a group of somewhat random, unrelated, domain names with decent PR (6-7). I know I need to host them each with different hosting providers to get around the penalty for having inbound links from the same Class C address space.
Whats the best way to make use of these? I have an existing site that I want to "channel" the PR to. Im not interested in adsense revenue. Thats for kids.

Should I create a single index page with a few links? 500 pages? 100,000 pages?

How about "borrowing" content from other sites and adding in-text links to my main site. How well does that work?

GG, what is "external PageRank" for the purposes of the toolbar, and how is it different from any other PageRank. Are you referring to "external PageRank" in the terms of the INRIA's paper on the local aspects of global ranking?

Also, to ask whether or not we're sure something is "passing" PageRank is an odd question. Is there a filter to prevent that action from happening? How would we know?

It sounds like TBPR isn't simply a "rough estimate" of algo PR anymore, it's completely different. Most of us have suspected this for some time.
